Teachers of the Visually Impaired

Our highly-qualified TVIs are more than just educators—they’re champions of independence for individuals with visual impairments. From Pre-K to 12th grade and beyond, our TVIs are there to guide students every step of the way.

Expanded Core Curriculum – Going Beyond the Basics

We believe in holistic learning, which is why our approach includes support and instruction in the Expanded Core Curriculum (ECC) for students with visual impairments. Our TVIs work in tandem with the Individualized Education Program (IEP) teams and state agencies to facilitate smooth post-secondary transitions.

Orientation & Mobility Specialists

We believe in fostering independence among visually impaired individuals. Our specialists teach spatial and environmental concepts that can be used at home, school, and community settings. Our goal is to provide individuals empowerment through becoming independent.

We understand that every student is unique. Our services are tailored to meet the specific needs of each individual as outlined in their IEP. From direct instruction to collaborative consultation, we harmonize our approach to ensure optimal learning experiences for each student.

The TruVision Advantage

Our specialists are adept at providing instruction in orientation and mobility techniques, including long cane travel in school and community environments. We also extend our expertise to school staff and IEP teams, providing training on the student’s use of the long cane and necessary environmental adaptations.
